Song Description

Madhushravani is a festival observed by newly married Maithil women, who pray for their husband’s well-being and long life. In this song, the bride longs for her husband’s presence during the festival. She had hoped they would celebrate together, but he has not come. She expresses her sorrow and gently complains that neither her mother-in-law nor her sisters-in-law sent her the essential items for the ritual—like gauri, flowers, and bhaar—and even her husband did not return to be with her at this auspicious time. She feels that no one understands the pain of being away from her husband during such a special occasion.
